The Ohio State is a male butt champion of the regular Big Ten season for the first time in the history of the school.
In an exciting match between Buckeyes and Michigan Wolverines in which the two rivals led to various points in the last two quarters, Ohio State emerged Victorious, 10-8, to win its first Big Ten title in the history of the program on Saturday afternoon.

The OSU concluded that the first quarter tied in a score of 1-1 before midfielder Ben Mayer scored a goal with a little less than four minutes in the first half to take a 3-2 advance at halftime.

The Ohio State then scored an additional goal just eight seconds from the second half before alternating goals with Michigan on the road to a 5-3 advance. Unfortunately, the Buckeyes would then allow five scores unanswered to the Wolverines who gave UM an 8-5 lead with approximately 12 minutes remaining in the match.
Buckeyes were to dig deeply if they wanted to return and win their first title of conference in the history of the school. Midfielder Gannon Matthews began this effort with his 12th goal of the season just under five and a half in the competition.

Matthews then followed this goal with another one and a half later to reduce Michigan’s advance to one.

Less than a minute later, the reserve player Shane O’Leary made the match at eight goals each.

Ed Shean then scored his second goal of the day to regain the head of Ohio State with just under two minutes in the match.

Finally, Gannon obtained his hat turn in the fourth quarter with a goal that put the buckeyes in advance for good by a final score of 10-8 and ensured the first title of the school conference in the history of the school.

The Ohio State ended the day with six different players scoring a total of 10 goals, including the aforementioned hat of Matthews which has materialized during the return offer of the team’s fourth quarter. The competition match saw a full 74 shots between the teams, while the Buckeyes tried only two more than the Wolverines.
Buckeyes are now the seeded n ° 1 of the male butt tournament Big Ten, which is starting on Saturday, April 26. As a seeded n ° 1, the Buckeyes receive a Bye in the first round to the semi-finals of the tournament, which are scheduled for Thursday, May 1 in Ann Arbor (5 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., BTN). The Big Ten tournament championship match will be played on Saturday May 3, also in Ann Arbor (8 p.m., BTN).
