Christopher Nolan did not go to Cinemacon this year – the Oscar -winning author is deeply in the production of his next epic Odyssey – But his name appeared on the main scene.
During the presentation of Universal Pictures inside the Colosseum of Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, the president of the domestic theatrical distribution studio, Jim Orr, went on stage and congratulated Nolan’s “viewer” on history. “We know that this film will be a unique cinematographic masterpiece of which Homer himself would be very proud,” he said.
The film is described by Universal as a “epic of mythical action turned around the world using the brand new IMAX film technology.
Orr also took a moment to distinguish how Nolan “gathered an amazing distribution of the stars”. Indeed it is. The universal characteristic is full of stars like Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, Benny Safdie, Jon Bernthal, Mia Goth, Elliot Page, Samantha Morton, Benny Safdie, Cosmo Jarvis and Ryan Hurst, among others.
Homer’s poem tells the Greek hero, King Ulysses, played by Damon in Nolan’s story, and his tortuous 10 -year journey to Ithaca after the Trojan War. It is a trip filled with interruptions and influence of the gods (not to mention some cyclops). The story also involves the adult woman and son of Ulysses, who must face aggressive contenders who have conceptions on the throne.
The film is Nolan’s follow -up to his best blockbuster gain Oppenheimer For universal.
Cinemacon, the annual gathering of hollywood cinema owners and studios, is organized in Las Vegas by the new Cinema United, which for decades was known as the National Association of Theater Owners. This year’s edition takes place from March 31 to April 3.
