Like other departments which recently returned to the wearing of a compulsory mask outdoors, the administrative court of Nantes also suspended the decree in question which had applied in Loire-Atlantique since December 31.
According to information from AFP, the administrative court of Nantes suspended on January 14 the decree which made it compulsory to wear a mask outdoors in Loire-Atlantique since December 31, 2021.
This suspension echoes similar measures recently taken in the Yvelines department as well as in Paris. Indeed, the administrative courts of Versailles and Paris respectively announced on January 12 and 13 that they had suspended the obligation to wear a mask outdoors.
In the Yvelines, the judge in chambers considered that the wearing of the mask “could only be imposed on condition that the local epidemiological situation justifies it and [d’être] limited to places and times of heavy traffic,” the statement read.
Asked by AFP, the Paris police headquarters for its part reserved its response to receipt of the decision. “As it was neither necessary nor strictly proportionate, the administrative court wished to suspend the decree”, commented to the press agency the lawyer Jean-Baptiste Soufron, who pleaded for the suspension of this decree. .
