The Los Angeles Kings star, Kevin Fiala, returned to the Swiss team at the world championships after having retired to be with his wife who recently lost the couple’s second child during pregnancy.
Fiala did not participate in the first two games of Switzerland at the IIHF world championships because of his wife, but joined her country earlier this week for her match against the United States.
Fiala is married to Jessica Ljung with the couple who tied in 2022. They have a daughter, Masie-Mae, born last May.
The couple began to go out together over ten years ago, Jessica appearing for the first time on her social networks in early 2015. Kevin and Jessica were committed in 2021 in Mexico in a sumptuous beach moment.
The Swiss defeated the Americans 3-0 with Fiala speaking of her return to international competition after victory.
“My wife Jessica was pregnant for the second time, but lost the child,” said Fiala. “It was not easy last week. She supports me as always, I am incredibly grateful; She is just the best woman. When she is here, I feel at home. This is why I played so well today.

Fiala was able to play for Switzerland after the Kings were eliminated NHL qualifiers by Edmonton’s Oilers.
The 28 -year -old is an NHL element, having played in the league for more than a decade despite his age.
Without Fiala, Switzerland has not lost a regulatory match, falling against Cychy during the opening match in overtime before a 5-2 victory against Denmark co-animators.
Fiala has been a coherent competitor, rarely missing a match with an injury in recent years, making her absence from the Swiss team more discordant.
On her Instagram, Fiala shared updates with Jessica and Masie-Mae throughout last year, including a vacation in Mexico. Fiala is under contract with the Kings throughout the 2029 season.
