It is not a secret for anyone that the Patriots of New England seem to be the probable destination of Will Campbell at n ° 4 in total on Thursday evening in order to respond to their biggest field of need.
But what should the patriots do after this selection when they come back at the start of the second round? Patriots need more than the offensive line, as they could certainly use a wide receiver, a tight end and a rusher on board.
But Jordan Reid of ESPN made sure that the patriots surrounded these three positions with the overall choice n ° 38 in his last simulated draft. Instead, Reid brought them back for another offensive line player after selecting Will Campbell by writing the Ohio Donovan Jackson state -keeper.
“The Patriots should entertain the idea of double the editors of offensive lines with their first two choices,” wrote Reid. “Jackson is a blocker to the diagram that knocked out Josh Simmons in the left tackle last season after playing only on guard before that. He projects as a guard, but the versatility of Jackson combined with Will Campbell would give the patriots a youthful treatment.”
Combining Campbell and Jackson together would consolidate the left side of the New England offensive line for the coming years.

While everyone knows the gaping hole in the left tackle for the patriots, they are not exactly on the left guard either. Cole Strange or Layden Robinson, which the patriots selected in the fourth round last year, are projected like the starting left guard and they did not exactly inspire the confidence of their game in 2024.
Protecting the quarter of the Drake Maye franchise and putting weapons around him is of the utmost importance for the patriots. And they can make one of these two by following the Reid plan in the project.
