The new James Bond producers of Amazon MGM are in London to start

Amazon MGM gets to work on Bond.

Courtenay Valenti, head of cinema, streaming and theatrical and the head of world marketing, Sue Kroll, said this evening that producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman were currently in London to move forward with a new 007 finally.

Valenti called the duo “cinema legends”. After paying to take creative control of the franchise, Amazon MGM recently led them to produce the next 007 episode.

“We are committed to honoring the inheritance of this emblematic character, while bringing a new fresh chapter and exhilarating to the public around the world alongside Amy and David,” she said. “They are both in London to start and could not be here tonight, but we wanted to thank them for what we know how to be an incredible partnership. Thank you, Amy and David! ”

The big step forward on Bond was made possible by an agreement in February with the longtime producers of James Bond and the creative masters Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, who gave up control of the beloved spy franchise and gave the reins to the new owners.

Amazon acquired the studio in 2022 for $ 8.5 billion. It included all his IP. But the Bond franchise was unusual because it was creatively the domain of Wilson and Broccoli, which had refused to move on on something new since the merger.

The electronic commerce giant has paid another billion dollars additional to obtain creative control. As part of the Agreement, Amazon and the producers have formed a new joint venture to shelter the intellectual property rights of the obligations, Broccoli and Wilson remaining co -owners of the franchise.

The very urgent question mark remains the new James Bond itself. Despite years of wild speculation on which could replace Daniel Craig, there have been no substantial updates, although it now seems that it will have to change.

The update of bonds has reached the beginnings of Amazon MGM in Cinemacon, the annual gathering of theater owners in Las Vegas. The studio increases its theatrical slate to 16 films in 2027 and built a global distribution arm.
