Having already obtained a strong conduct on the action cam market with its Ace pro lineupInsta360 is now questioning Dji, Shure and Rode with the company’s first wireless microphone. In size comparable to an aerial apple, micro Insta360 air is one of the smallest and lightest wireless microphones now available while offering up to 10 hours of battery life.
Weighing only 7.9 grams, micro air is lighter than the 10 grams DJI Mic MiniThe 30 grams Rode Rode Wireless Go IIand even Tiny 8.2 grams of movem. It is designed to be worn by cutting it into clothes, using a magnetic support or by suspending a hanging strap. For solo creators, the microphone air also has its own button commands which can be used to activate noise cancellation, start or stop video recording, and even undress it quickly, while the USB-C receiver has its own volume commands.
Insta360 claims that Air Mic offers up to 10 hours of use on a single load and a range of up to 300 meters, but it is then that the microphone is connected to its optional wireless receiver in an “open, obstruction and interference” environment and with the cancellation of the deactivated noise. Micro air can also connect wirelessly directly to the Insta360 ACE Pro 2 action cam and Cam at 360 Insta360 x5 8K On Bluetooth (the company promises compatibility with other models later). But that drops the battery life up to 7.5 hours and the beach will be reduced between 30 and 50 meters.
Although Bluetooth connectivity is included, the optional USB-C wireless receiver is necessary to use micro air with smartphones, which also means that you will potentially need a heavy adapter dong to use it with older iPhones that still have a flash port.
