“MOBLAND” is the last show to hit Paramount more, and if you are like me, you were waiting for this criminal drama.
From the legendary director of criminal films Guy Ritchie, this new show features Tom Hardy in the role of Harry Da Souza, a fixer of the Harrigan crime family, based in London.
To watch
This family is led by Patriarch Conrad Harrigan (Pierce Brosnan), while his wife, Maeve (Helen Mirren) and his son Kevin (Paddy Considine) are also key toils in the crime machine Harrigan.
Now, if it looks like a star casting, it is because it is. Get Hardy, Brosnan and Mirren on the screen would make any Hollywood setting together, and it is impressive to make them appear for a television program, although everyone now has television.
The only problem? Maybe it’s Also Lots of star power. Because there are too many scenarios in the first episode of this program.

Light Spoilers for ‘Mobland’ Episode 1 Beyond this point
“ Mobland ” must focus on its main story
“Mobland” has three scenarios through his first two episodes.
Plot A focuses on a budding criminal war between Conrad Harrigan of Brosnan and his main rival, Richie Stevenson (Geoff Bell). These two do not love each other and want to get rid of the other, but there is a uncomfortable truce.
This truce is broken, however, when Richie’s son Tommy (Alex Fine) disappears after an evening with Conrad’s grandson, Eddie (Anson Boon). Richie will not hesitate to use violence to recover her son, and Conrad will eliminate Richie if he owes it.
This is part of the show that works unequivocally. Hardy is great as a fixer of Conrad, Harry and even Anson Boon while Eddie is forced to look.
But there are then sub -intrigues and additional plots that work less well. In this budding crowd war, there are already victims and signs that members of the extensive opportunity of the Harrigan crime family.
It is logical that these sub -intrigues are in the show, but frankly, they could be excised for a leaner story that is largely focused on the character of Hardy.
There is also a secondary plot on the deterioration of Harry’s marriage with his wife Jan (Joanne Froggatt) that I do not really care or find it necessary for history. He creaks from the momentum to a stop and Hardy and Froggatt have no note chemistry.
The good news is that “Mobland” improves
Without spoiling anything, I can tell you that this show improves at the end of the second episode. At the end of this episode, the series went back to its main script and prepared me to look more.
This is why I still have a lot of hope for this program despite a first episode which is weighed down by the plot. If he can focus as much as possible on his main story, or at least start binding his subtotters in the main story, I think the eight remaining episodes will be pleasant to watch.
If you don’t have patience for that, I understand. I know people find it frustrating when you tell them: “Wait just halfway from the first season. It will be fine!”
But I promise you, the way episode 2 ends, I really believe that “Mobland” can always be up to its star potential. So look at the first today – which, for all my complaints, still has a few classic moments from Guy Ritchie, then connect next week for episode 2.
