The latest web browser coming to the Opera list embraces AI agents who aim to use the Internet For You. The Norwegian technology company describes the neon opera as an “agency browser” which has a contextual conscience and performs tasks in the name of users, including research, construction and design of everything you need.
Curiously, Opera has announced A neon browser in 2017 It has never taken off. We will see if it’s more success this time.
“We are at a point where AI can fundamentally change the way we use the Internet and perform all kinds of tasks in the browser,” said Henrik Lexow, Opera IA product director, in the company’s press release. “Opera Neon brings this to the fingertips of our users.”
A notable feature to adopt is an AI engine which, according to Opera, is “able to understand and interpret” what users ask and then do it using AI agents based on the cloud. For example, Opera says that neon can make games, reports, code extracts and websites, and can work on several tasks even when the user is offline.
Opera has not mentioned when it is launched or how much the neon will cost, beyond it being described as a “premium subscription product”, so there is currently little information available to save what the browser is supposed to be capable of.
Otherwise, Neon offers AI tools similar to those found in Microsoft Copilot And Openai operator. Opera says that neon users can use a chatbot interface to search for the web, respond to requests and get “contextual information” from the web page they have opened. Opera Neon also has an AI agent that Opera previously introduced in March as “browser operator”, which allows users to automate routine web tasks, such as purchases, filling up online forms and reservation of events or accommodation. Opera says that the tool interacts with the content of the web page locally on the browser to preserve confidentiality and security.
The details on the neon are currently thin, which is the fifth browser in the Carquois of Opera, after having announced its Air browser focused on mindfulness in February. We will know more about Opera Neon’s real world’s capacities when it takes place completely in beta – when, someone is to assume that the company will not provide us with a firm date.
