The Nebraska baseball season is still alive.
The Nebraska, the 8 seeds in the Big Ten tournament, upset the Oregon at 1 seed Saturday morning in Charles Schwab Field, 7-3. Huskers improve at 30-27 while the Ducks fall to 41-14.
Oregon is now turned off until learning its post-season destination with the NCAA selection program on Monday. The Nebraska advances in the semi-finals later in the day.
Jackson Brockett and Will Walsh’s pitching duo have kept dispersed duck bats. The pair granted three points over 12 strokes, walking three and withdrawing six.
On the plate, the Huskers did damage against the AS of Duck Gazza Grinsell. The Nebraska was able to attend six points on Grayson, forcing him to get out of the match after only 4.0 work sleeves.
Part of the Nebraska’s success occurred on Oregon’s errors. The Ducks made four mistakes, helping the Huskers prolonging the sleeves and building the head early.
The Huskers finished with 11 strokes, led by effort 3 for 4 from Riley Silva. Gabe Swansen and Case Sanderson finished with two points produced each.
The Nebraska will face the ninth seeded Penn State at the CDT at 5 p.m. The game will be broadcast on Big Ten Network.
