The NBA champion Matt Barnes said he hadn’t cried for 30 years in an episode of emotional podcast.
Barnes, 45, had a 14-year-old career in the NBA and won a title with the Golden State Warriors in the 2016-17 season, his last year.
But in a new episode of his All the smoke podcastBarnes spoke of his turbulent childhood, in which he grew up “ biracial, (with a) black father, Italian mom, drugs, abuse, alcohol, violence ”.
His mother also died at the age of 27 and at the early stages of her NBA career.
“And I didn’t cry … I’m starting to feel it now. I feel like I am almost dumped with an empty cup, “he said.
Barnes estimated that the last time he cried was when he was about 10 years old, after “obtaining his ** howls”.

The former little NBA striker, who recently separated from the fiancée Anansa Sims, said that he has always taken care of everyone ” throughout his player career and had trouble expressing his emotions to his ex-partner.
“Thanks to my actions, I just lost my family … I was not there emotionally, I was not empathetic,” he said.
“ Try to dig and understand, and I started to advise that, as you said, Little Matt, at the time, is always injured – and I always try to find his way. Although Grown Matt has the impression of having everything, Little Matt is there more than I think, “he continued.
Barnes said that crying as a man was a “refreshing” and “good” thing to do, but always asked his guest of Podcast, Jason Wilson, how he could get there himself.
“How do you cry?” I don’t want to say that I don’t know how to cry because I have already cried, but I haven’t cried for 30 years.
In January, Barnes was accused by Sims – with whom he has been since 2018 – in a social media position to deceive her with eight different women.

And after her last episode of Podcast, she sounded on her ex on the sharing of “half-truths” in public.
“If you are going to talk about our personal business publicly, tell the whole story,” she wrote in an Instagram story now deleted, according to The Shade Room.
“Do not publish half-truths on me and our past relationship to obtain the sympathy of the masses. I am in the trenches to do hard work by ensuring that all our children are doing well.
She continued: “You have made no effort to emotionally support all our children thanks to this traumatic transition that you have caused, but you are ready to be” vulnerable “for foreigners on the objective gram? Please keep my name out of your mouth.
“If you want to do good, do not talk about me, follow a coherent therapy and the most important start to establish a relationship with God,” she finished the declaration.
The former couple shares two children together, while the two also have children of previous weddings.
