Several trails and campsite in the Angeles National Forest which have been closed from the January FireTorm have reopened for visitors, officials of the American forest service announced.
At one point, around 17% of the forests of 700,000 acres were closed due to the damage caused by fires of the Eaton fire in January and the bridge fire in September.
But as repairs have progressed, the paths have gradually reopened. Here are the trails, campsites and other places that have become available again on Friday:
- Chantry flat recreation area
- All the national leisure trails of Gabrielino
- Gould Mesa campsite
- Switzer picnic site
- STURTEVER TRAIL
- Stutching loop
- Upper and lower paths of the winter stream
However, many other roads and places in the forest will remain closed until the end of the year.
The following roads remain closed:
- Chaney Trail Road
- Mt. Lowe Road
- MILLARD PARKING
- Millard Canyon Road
- Mount Wilson Toll Road (below Mt. Wilson Trail)
- Mount Wilson Toll Road (under Henninger Flats)
- Mount Wilson Road Henninger Flats
- RIDGE ROAD descent

On January 7, several fires broke out in southern California, claiming at least 30 lives and destroying more than 16,000 houses and other structures. The cause of fires is investigated.
