Marvel Studios stole the Cultural Zeitgeist last week with his casting announcement of almost six hours live for “Avengers: Doomsday”, which they announced “now in production”.
27 fixed chairs were revealed with names of actors who were widely expected, others who were not, and seemed in particular to miss major inclusions like Chris Evans, Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Pratt and Mark Ruffalo.
It was quickly revealed that this event was only the beginning with more names to announce on a later date, which aroused many speculation as regards not only who could be included the next time, but why they were not this time.
In a new report, scooping Daniel Richtman entered this last question, saying that Marvel Studios retains a greater revelation during the start of filming.
He indicates that although production has started, the shooting has not yet started and the sets are still under construction. He adds: “The shooting begins in April. And they still have no script (finalized).”
Thus, certain offers of the actors were not entirely finished and Marvel naturally did not want to share the names of the actors who are not yet confirmed or signed to appear again.
“Avengers: Doomsday” should be published in May 2026, with “Avengers: Secret Wars” scheduled to arrive in May 2027.
