Sam Mendes appeared towards the end of the presentation of Sony’s Cinemacon to reveal details on how his four Beatles The films will fall. The four will be released in April 2028 in what is the first “Bingable moment in the cinema” said Mendes (the words of the boss of Sony Motion Pictures Tom Rothman). Mendes also confirmed the casting, which we all know: George Harrison is Joseph Quinn, Paul Mescal is Paul McCartney, Barry Koeghan is Ringo Starr and Harris Dickinson is John Lennon.
Mendes would not confirm what order the film would overcome. He also mentioned that it would take more than a year to shoot the four films. “I understand Avatar Shouted Rothman jokingly.
Said Mendes, the Beatles “redefined culture and remained with you a whole life” may call them “the most important group of all time”.
“I was trying to make a film for years, but I finally abandoned” because he felt that “the story was too big for a film” and that a television series did not seem quite right. “There must have been a way to tell the epic story for a new generation … I can assure you that there is still a lot to explore and I think we have found a way to do it.”
The actors then quoted “The Lonely Hearts Coeurs Club group of the SGT Pepper”, saying “it’s wonderful to be here, it’s certainly a thrill, you are such a charming audience, we would like to bring you home with us.”
