Newport Beach police said the motorcyclist killed by an officer during a traffic stop on Thursday, April 17, assaulted the officer, took the officer’s taser and tried to use it several times.
The motorcyclist, Geoffrey Shyam Stirling, 45, from Laguna Niguel, was arrested by police for a violation of non -disclosed traffic on Coast Highway between Superior Avenue and Hoag Hospital around 9:15 p.m.
During the judgment, he became not very cooperative and assaulted the officer and took the taser of the officer’s belt and tried to use him on the officer several times, the police said, before the suspect was fatally slaughtered.
A man of the same name was to appear in court on Monday, April 21, concerning an accusation of criminal fire for crime, according to the archives of the court of the Comté d’Orange.
The California Ministry of Justice investigates the shooting.
