The discovery came after three private Alaska companies, one of which uses Sonar equipment to search underwater, offered in April to help seek the family, which comes from Texas, according to a press release published by the Alaska Ministry of Public Security.
Earlier this month, they found the boat missing with human remains over 180 feet (55 meters) of water in Kachemak bay near Homer, the department said.
State divers were then able to recover three sets of remains of the ship flowed during the dives on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The leftovers were taken to the office of the state medical examiner to make autopsies and identify them, according to the public security service. He did not say how long the identification of the remains would take.
The disappeared family of Troy, Texas, includes Mary Maynard, 37, and David Maynard, 42, with Sons Colton, 11, and Brantley, 8, according to the press release.
The family’s search was launched in August after a report came that an aluminum boat of 28 feet (8.5 meters) carrying eight people had started to take water, said the American coast guard at the time. The Coast Guard informed other ships in the situation area, and a nearby boat saved four people.
The Coast Guard has traveled the Kachemak bay and the Alaska research and rescue teams tried to use Sonar equipment to find the family, according to the public security service of the State. But they did not succeed and the next evening, the research was suspended.
Christi Wells, who made a statement on behalf of Mary Maynard’s parents at the time, said the family liked to spend time with friends and parents, and travel, according to The Anchorage Daily News. Mary Maynard was a travel nurse and David Maynard stayed at home with the children and had a lawn care company, she said.
