A mayor of Pennsylvania was criticized by one of the residents of his city to support the Cowboys of Dallas in Eagles territory.
Ed Brown is the mayor of Upper Darby, Pennsylvania since January 2024. Brown, a Democrat, beat the Republican Brian Burke to become the very first black mayor of the city.
With a population of just over 85,000, the canton of Upper Darby is about nine miles east of Philadelphia.
Following their Super Bowl victory in February, a fan of the Eagles took the podium and tore Brown for supporting his rivals during a meeting in town.
“This is what is happening, the guys – residents of the canton of Upper Darby – when you elect a cowboys fan to your government. 29 years to lose with this team. What are you waiting for with leadership?
“This is a fan of cowboys. This guy follows cowboys. You see what type of leadership they have and that’s what you put your confidence. A cowboys fan, disgusting ” added the resident.
Upper Darby, Mayor Pa Ed Brown was energized by a room to support Dallas Cowboys
According to Upper Darby’s website, Brown has lived in the canton for 28 years.
While the cowboys saw their glory days in the 1990s with three Super Bowls in four years, they had a difficult route since the victory in 1995. Jerry Jones’s team won five qualifying matches in the past 29 years.
In addition, the American team has not played in the match for the NFC title since 1995, which has become the longest drought when Washington Commanders reached the match in January before losing Philadelphia.
While the birds were heading for the dismantling of Kansas City chiefs, the Cowboys suffered a 7-10 season and missed the playoffs for the first time in three years after a season marked by an injury.
