The Masters 2024: Watch Scottie Scheffler’s hilarious reaction when Bryson DeChambeau hits the fairway to end third-round chaos

Scottie Scheffler was left speechless after watching the dramatic climax of Bryson DeChambeau’s chaotic third round at the Masters.

At the end of Augusta’s wild few hours of action, Scheffler carded a under-par 71 to give himself a one-shot heading into Sunday’s final round.

He had started the day alongside DeChambeau at the top of the leaderboard, only for the LIV rebel to shoot a three over par 75 on Saturday.

After going over par in the top nine, DeChambeau threatened to implode. He made bogeys at 11 and 12 then, after a birdie at 14, he lost on the par five 15.

He found the trees then the creek before finally carding a double bogey. A three-putt bogey followed at the 16th.

But DeChambeau then recovered a shot in dramatic fashion on the final hole. After a wayward run into the trees, he was forced to hit the ball back into the fairway. From 77 yards out, the 30-year-old then landed a few feet from the pin and watched the ball roll into the hole.

Scheffler was waiting to be interviewed when he saw the photo on television. His hilarious reaction was caught on camera.

The world number 1’s mouth opened and he quickly saw himself saying “wow”. The birdie saw DeChambeau return to three under par.

The 2020 US Open champion now sits in fifth place – four shots behind Scheffler – heading into the final round. Collin Morikawa (-6), Max Homa (-5) and Ludvig Aberg (-4) are between DeChambeau and the leader.
