The Masters will take center stage next week as the world’s top golf stars prepare for the first major of the year at the iconic Augusta National.

Last year, Jon Rahm won his first green jacket by fending off pressure from Brooks Koepka to get his hands on another major title.

LIV star Rahm will be there to defend his crown, but will once again face an incredibly tough field with Rory McIlroy, Viktor Hovland and Scottie Scheffler seeking glory.

The Masters is the first major tournament of the year and is always a special event as Augusta traditions return.

The Masters 2024: Start date and time

Play will take place each day until the final round on Sunday, April 14.

The Masters 2024: Course details

The par 72 at Augusta National will play to a new maximum length of 7,555 yards this year.

The 2nd hole, a par 5 called “Pink Dogwood,” was lengthened to 585 yards during the latest development at Augusta.

The famous par-5 13th “Azalea” was increased to 545 yards last year.

Fans will look forward to the action on two of the most famous par 3s in world golf: the 12th “Golden Bell” and the 16th “Redbud”.

The Masters 2024: Field and tee times

The full field for The Masters has not yet been confirmed.

But as always, there will be a star-studded line-up at Augusta.

Rahm hopes to defend his title, but Scheffler will be the heavy favorite after his recent stunning victories at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players.

LIV star Koepka will also be there while McIlroy, Hovland, Wyndham Clark and Matt Fitzpatrick will be among those fighting for the green jacket.

All past Masters winners are invited back, meaning legends like Fred Couples, Jose Maria Olazabal and Vijay Singh are set to tee off.

Tiger Woods hopes to participate as well, but that seems unlikely due to his ongoing injuries.

The Masters 2024: What was said?

Defending champion Rahm dedicated his Masters victory last year to golf icon Seve Ballesteros.

He said: “Obviously we all dream of things like that as players, and you try to visualize what it’s going to be like and what it’s going to feel like.

“And when I hit that third shot onto the green, and I could tell it was close to the crowd reaction, just the wave of emotion from so much washed over me.

“I never thought I would cry when I won a golf tournament, but I got very close to the 18th hole.

“And largely because of what it means for me and for Spanish golf: it’s the 10th Spanish major, the fourth Spanish player to win the Masters, and my second major victory. It’s pretty incredible.

“This one was for Seve. He was up there helping and he did.”
