The CEO of Jefferies, Richard, Handler, tackled the death of a 28 -year -old technological banker in a memo to the staff on Saturday, slamming online “speculation” and “cynical hypotheses” and providing support to junior staff members .
“I hope that everyone who knows me understand how personally it is tearing to me,” said Handler about the unexpected death of Carter McIntosh, a TMT banker from Dallas.
McIntosh was found dead in a residential building called Bell Knox District on Monday, according to files from the Dallas County Legalist’s office. The cause of death remains unknown, but it has led to certain online criticisms on sometimes exhausting requests that can be placed on young professionals from Wall Street.
The Saturday manager lambasted what he called the “unsolved and vitrioral attacks”.
“At this point, nobody knows exactly what has happened and engaging in speculation with cynical hypotheses is useless and adds only to the grief that the McIntosh family suffers,” he said .
Dallas police said they were investigating McIntosh’s death. “On the basis of the date, approximate time and the location, this incident is the subject of an investigation as an unexplained death,” said Michael Dennis, public information for the police on Tuesday from Dallas.
Handler said he had spent time with Juniors from the Dallas office on Thursday and had supported anyone in mourning or overworked.
