A man was surprised passing parrots in California after the customs and border protection agents noticed “bulging clothing of unusual clothes” around his ankles and discovered six birds filled in his boots, the authorities said.

The bizarre incident occurred on April 30, when customs and border patrol agents withdrew a 51-year-old man who asked for admission to the United States from Mexico at the Otay Mesa entrance port.

An officer spotted the deformed pieces around the man’s feet after asking him to get out of his vehicle. When they tapped her, they discovered unhooked birds hidden in his boots. They found six additional parrots in his car, including two dead, according to the CBP.

“Bird smuggling is extremely dangerous,” said Sidney Aki, CBP director San Diego Field Operations, in a statement. “Birds can also be hosts for a variety of diseases that can threaten native fauna and American agricultural industries, potentially causing general economic consequences.”

This is not the only attempt to smuggle recent cattle against an American border crossing in California.

On May 4, a 26-year-old man who asked for his admission to the United States at the San Ysidro entrance port was surprised to pass 16 perruins live and three live chickens, officials said. The CBP officers saw a blanket moving inside the human car and discovered the animals in two cages below, the authorities said.

Last March, the police found 21 parrots and a toucan with a keel while searching a sedan in American-mexic border in Tecate, according to CBP.

The agents of the border patrol stopped drivers and passengers in the two recent attempts at suspected smuggling and handed them over to the investigations on internal security and American fish and fauna services for a more in -depth investigation.

Confiscked animals are in forty by the veterinary services of the American department of agriculture to ensure that they have no avian disease such as the bird flu.
