A 36 -year -old man was killed early on Saturday morning after the electric bike he drove collided with a sedan in Clairemont Mesa.
The cyclist deployed west in the cycle path around 1:30 a.m. on Balboa avenue in Clairemont Mesa East when, according to the San Diego police, he turned on the road to the car and was struck.
The victim, whose name has not yet been released, was taken by ambulance to the hospital where he died.
The police said that the driver of the car had fled the premises after the cyclist was struck.
The SDPD traffic division, which manages the collision survey, said it was looking for a 2016-2022 Mercedes B class sedan with front and lack of the missing bodies.
