Firefighters Germany I had to use hydraulic equipment to release a man who found himself stuck under a train armrest while looking for an abandoned airpod.
Friday evening, emergency services were called to Lehrte station in the North Center in Germany following a passenger, the local fire service said in a statement published on Saturday.

“Which initially looked like a fairly simple rescue that has become a complex rescue operation, however, because the person’s hand had inflated so much while waiting for them to be released by using simple rescue equipment,” he said.
The firefighters had to dismantle a luggage rack and seats, then saw through the armrest before using hydraulic material to release the man, which was stuck for about an hour and half in total, he added.
“The injured person was then given to the emergency services with his AirPods, who had also been saved,” said the fire service, who noted that a total of 11 firefighters and two vehicles had been used in the operation.
Police were also called to the scene due to what firefighters described as “unpleasant scenes” involving spectators.
“In order to prevent the Gawkers from taking photos of the person trapped with their mobile phones, the operating area was not only completed in a large area, but the direct view was blocked by a rescue cover attached outside the train,” said the ministry.
Due to the duration of the time to release humans, the train was evacuated and a replacement service took the remaining passengers in their current trip, he added.
