The appointment of Harry Brook as Captain opens a new era for the limited teams in England according to a sustained period of misery, including ignominues outings during the World Cup and Champions in a day’s cricket and a disappointing trip in the semi-finals of the Twenty20 World Cup.
In terms of results, Brook inherits a team that lost 19 of the 26 international internationals and 17 in 32 Twenty20 games, requiring the need to refresh in the team.
Here, Mail Sport identifies six players from the County circuit that they should consider before the home series next month against the Antilles.
Sam Hain (Warwickshire)
What can we do to persuade selectors, he is the mid-inning technician in England in the past 18 months? Not much, it seems.
Given the chance to show them against Ireland in September 2023, he presented his file for future calls with a first 89 against Ireland in Trent Bridge, but was provided after a single additional appearance in a series of rain and has not presented in the teams since.
Hain, 29, has set up an exceptional white ball work, which probably does the number one when applying traditional game statistics.

Mail Sport gives six players that he should consider bringing to the lap – including Sam Hain
In the history of List a Cricket, his average of 57.76 is only marginally second behind 57.86 of the Australian Michael Bevan and he is half a century in 44% of his appearances.
In fact, its 50 numbers are so remarkable that its Twenty20 prowess is neglected, but no qualified drummer in English in 22 years in the shortest format can match its brand of 38.77. Graeme Hick, next best on the list with 36.39, only played 37 games at Hain’s 160.
However, despite the possibility of assessing the risks through different phases of a round and advancing the dashboard for its duration, an international career has so far been elusive.
With England supporters increasingly annoyed than some players appear to the bombs test, however, there will be pressure to give Hain – a regular at the Lions of England since 2018 – an upgrade.
Tom Banton (Somerset)
This is a bit of a cheat code trick while Banton was summoned to India in February during an overabundance of injuries, making a solid impression during his first international appearance since 2022 during the defeat at Ahmedabad, then retained as a replacement of Jacob Bethell for the Champions Trophy.
Such was its domestic form, however, that there is a case for the new energy provided by the Somerset Window Guardian who develops greater permanence.
For years, it appeared that it was a talent that would not be satisfied. While the career of his friend Brook went in one direction, Banton went to another. Sometimes, during his three -year exile, he could not do Somerset Xis and he admits openly to hate sport for a period.
But his relationship with Brook dates back to their under 19 years old in England, and he is in the kind of imperative form which often precedes a successful transition to the world scene.
Banton’s 371 last week – a record score for a Somerset drummer – could have come against a red bullet sent by a green attack on Worcestershire, but it was not a contribution in isolation.
Last September, he finished with division 1 scores of 73, 46, 132 and 46 (striking on one leg against the Surrey champions), then made the world of the franchise take note of his racing glut with two hundred in shape ILT20 – who encouraged Rob Key and Brendon McCulumm that he was worthy of a second come with England.

Max Holden (Middlesex)
A former captain of England under 19, Holden made his debut in the county in adolescence, but has not really exploded since he hit the middle of his 20 years two years ago.
It was not so much the number of races he marked during his 2023 (420) vitality season as the speed at which he marked them.
The 185 left -wing strike rate was comfortably the highest of all front -line drummers and highlighted a separate change for a player who had previously been considered as something of first class.
Holden’s Clean Ball strike has also become a characteristic of tournaments abroad, with 230 points in four rounds at ILT20 earlier this year.
And if additional evidence was necessary for him to be a player who comes his own, he has been demonstrated with his performance in all formats. In 2024, he struck 981 first class points, easily his best return for a summer summer, and he started this season with a second scrap of the plug of a match against the Lancashire in Lord’s.

It is not so much the number of races that Max Holden marks, but how fast he marks them
James Coles (Sussex)
Although he feels that as the youngest beginner of first -class Sussex has always been held, Coles was only 21 on the eve of this season.
The benchmark coincides with an increasing deadline for its game and if England will not entertain the idea of recalling the fighter on the street of the multipurpose rotation in Liam Dawson, then they should take a look at the southern coast and consider a younger model.
Coles, whose slow left arm bowling is at this stage of his career more suited to White-Ball than first-class cricket, is also a versatile drummer, already holding position n ° 4 in a Sharks team which was participants in the final of the Twenty20 final last September, and a beautiful field player.
Graeme Swann had a significant influence on his bowling alley, encouraging a modus operandi previously focused on the confinement to go to that of the stake of counters and so that the fields attack rather than on the defensive.
The successive winters with the Lions of England favored this relationship with Spin Guru Swann.
Between the two, Coles took 20 T20 counters at 20 points each for Sussex and only traced the Australian player abroad Daniel Hughes with the bat during the Blast 2024 campaign.

James Coles has just turned 21 and is both a practical bowler player and a versatile drummer
Jordan Thompson (Yorkshire)
The new Captain Harry Brook knows a lot about the 28 -year -old, who fell back his animated sewing bowling with a long handle on the left.
Thompson’s career was one of the vintage vignettes rather than a consistency catalog, but it is his ability to excite things at the back of the two sleeves that make him an attractive proposal.
He lives by saying: pressure is a privilege. “If you are in these situations, it means that you have probably done well to get there. You have to put yourself in these positions to see how you react. Sometimes you go out in mind and sometimes you won’t do it.
Thompson came out in a fairly memorable way in some of the biggest matches of the national game.
In 2022, he in a way defended five on the last in a burglary of the oval Yorkshire which left Surrey amazed. Then, during the finals day, under the captain of Brook, he was up to the nickname of the great show which was granted to him by his County colleagues with a series of five six in seven deliveries during an 18-ball 50 off the Lancashire on the day of the final in Edgbaston.
He arrives in this season after taking 20 counters in each of the two previous explosion campaigns, also seated at the top of the Bowling charts during the inaugural season of The Hunged and was on the radars of the Indian franchises of the Premier League during the recent winters.

Brook knows Jordan Thompson, who has a sharp capacity to change things at the end of a round, well well

David Payne (on the left) could also find himself in the fold due to the variety of his bowling
David Payne (Gloucestershire)
One of the most obvious failures in England resulted from a lack of variety in their bowlingal attack. A devotion to punctuate the subtlety and the crafts meant questions capable of going up and down the gears instead of being stuck at full speed were visible by their absence.
Australia Nathan Ellis highlighted the value of changing things, turns out to be the Dur Melon to strike in the shock of the Champions Trophy between Lahore ashes of ashes because the strikers could not be defined for what was going to happen.
Payne operates in a similar way, initially looking to swing the new ball, then to stifle the old one around the seam before participating in the mind games associated with the death of a round.
It also offers a difference point via its angle of the left arm. When he made his only international appearance to date against the Netherlands in 2022, it was one of the three bowling stories in the south, but England recently slipped into the habit of choosing an arms bank on the right at a speed.
As an angleterre of contemporary under 19s of Ben Stokes, Joe Root and Jos Buttler, his age could work against him, but at 34, he always influences tournaments: last year, he finished as the main window in the new blast for the Gloucestershire winners for the first time, and he also took the new ball for Big Bash League Schors in 2023.
The counter-argument is that it is not fast enough for the international level, but that did not prevent its effectiveness against the control of the opposition which dates back to its brilliant bleaching from Surrey to Lord’s in the final of the one day 10 years ago.
