Jharkhand will go to the polls on Wednesday, November 13. Up to 1.37 voters will exercise their franchise in the first phase of the elections of the Jharkhand assembly, sealing the fate of 683 candidates.
Of the 81 constituencies of the Assembly, 43 will vote on Wednesday. The rest will go to the polls on November 20 in the second and last phase. Voting counting will be carried out on November 23.

Election of the Jharkhand 2024 assembly
The first voting phase in the elections of the Jharkhand Assembly will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. However, it will be finished at 4 p.m. in certain stands and those will be held in the queue will be allowed to vote.
No less than 15,344 polling stations were erected for the first phase, with 12,716 stands in rural areas and 2,628 stands in urban areas.
In accordance with the Association of Democratic Reforms, 235 of the 682 candidates who arise in this phase are crorepatis. Kandomani Bhumij, an independent candidate fighting from the Potka district (ST) in the East Singhbhum district, is the richest candidate, with total assets declared worth 80 rapes.
Sushil Topno of the Jharkhand Lokterik Krantikari Morcha is the poorest competitor of phase 1, with declared total assets of only 7,000 rupees. He is in the race for the district of Sisai (ST) in the Gumla district.
In the polls of the 2019 Assembly, the alliance led by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha was victorious, winning 47 of the 81 seats. The Bharatiya Janata (BJP) feast had put 25 bag seats.
This time, the JMM disputes 43 seats, while its Congress of the Alliance partners, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the left parties presented candidates for the 30, six and three seats, respectively.
The BJP fights 68 seats, while its allies of the National Democratic Alliance – all the Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), Janata Dal United (JDU) and the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) – dispute the remaining seats (10, two and one respectively).

Of the 43 seats going to the ballot box, 17 are reserved for the general category, 20 for the tribes listed (STS) and six for the planned castes (SCS).
The key seats to be monitored in the first phase are Ranchi, Seraikella, Jamshedpur East, Jamshedpur West and Jagannathpur.
The other seats that will vote in the first phase include Kodarma, Barkatha, Barhi, Barkagaon, Hazaribagh, Simaria (SC), Chatra (SC), Baharagora, Ghatsila (St), Potka (St), Jugsalai (SC), Ichagarh, Chaibasa (St), Majhgaon (St), Manoharpur (ST), Chakradharpur (ST), Kharsawan (St), Tamar (St), Torpa (St), Khunti (St), Hatia, Kanke (SC), Mandar (St) , Sisai (St), Gumla (St), Bishunpur (St), Simdega (St), Kolebira (St), Lohardaga (St), Manika (St), Latehar (SC), Panki, Daltonganj, Bishrampur, Chhatarpur (Sca ), Hussainabad, Garhwa and Bhawanathpur.
Jharkhand 2024 assembly election: key battles
The former chief minister of Jharkhand, Champai Soren, is in the fray of Will be. He left Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) in August to join the BJP after being removed from the “insulting” CM post.
While he is fighting on a Safran party ticket, Soren will face Ganesh Mahali, who is the JMM candidate. Interestingly, Mahali defeated the BJP. Soren, who was with the JMM at the time, beat him in the elections of the 2014 and 2019 assembly.
In Jamshedpur EastAjoy Kumar of Congress is posed with Purnima Das Sahu, the daughter-in-law of the former Jharkhand CM and current governor of Odisha Raghubar Das.
Kumar, who has already been the police superintendent (SP) of Jamshedpur, takes advantage of his image of a tough cop. But the task is cut for him because Jamshedpur East is a bastion of the BJP. Kumar has been considered the strongest candidate in the Congress for the headquarters for years.
Mahua Maji of JMM fights the elections of Rank Assembly seat. She faces the Singh Singh MLA. Ranchi is considered a BJP Bastion, Singh having won the seat six times.
Maji, who has a doctorate in sociology, is Jharkhand’s first woman to be elected to Rajya Sabha. In the surveys of the 2019 Assembly, Singh beaten Maji with a margin of more than 5,000 votes. She had also lost the 2014 Ranchi’s 2014 Assembly.
Saryu Roy is the candidate JDU of Jamshedpur West. He is opposed to Banna Gupta of the Congress. In 2019, Banna defeated becomes Nath Singh of the BJP by a margin of 22,583 votes.
Roy had won the elections of the 2019 assembly of Jamshedpur East, beating Raghubar DAS of the BJP.
In JagannathpurGeeta Koda of the BJP is against the deputy for the Congress in office Sona Ram Sinku. Koda is the wife of the old CM Madhu Koda. She left the Congress to join the BJP before the previous elections of the Assembly. Their other challengers are the Laxmi Narayan Gagrai by Jharkhand and Jharkhand Loktantrik Krantikari Morcha Lakshmi Narayan Laguri.
