Wednesday evening, Luka Doncic will return to Dallas with another uniform. Although it is the second time that Doncic has played its former team, the Sulovenian superstar will speak for Los Angeles Lakers against the Dallas Mavericks in her former house for the very first time.
The anticipation surrounding the game is quite high, especially for an April match, and Tim Macmahon d’Espn has published a functionality in Dononic’s Return The Morning of. In this feature, MacMahon reported on some of the Mavericks’ plans to welcome the former favorite of fans after sending the city ceremony without ceremony – and the Donteic camp apparently had an idea.
According to MacMahon, the franchise had aligned “lucrative sponsorship agreements” with several companies Doncic apprinates, in a premium way to promote its return to Dallas. The Donci camp did not buy it for a great reason.
“Team sources have declared to ESPN that the MAVS had also aligned lucrative sponsorship agreements for Wednesday’s match, with several companies that Doncouic approves,” wrote MacMahon, “but these offers collapsed after the Doncic camp refused to give its blessing, noting in a ostensible manner that it plays now for the Lakers.”
A good thing to emphasize!
There was no illusion that there was a lost love between Doncic and the Mavs after the shocking trade that sent him to Los Angeles. An anecdote like this only reinforces this perception.
It should be a very funny evening in Dallas – but probably not for Mavs.
