The Lions play 14 of their first 15 games indoors

The new age Lions have built their brand on courage, tenacity and a warning that they come with sharp teeth for the joint that connects the upper and lower leg. But they remain fundamentally a dome team. And their schedule, coupled with the Super Bowl location, gives the LIons an ideal set of circumstances to do what they almost did last year.

Get to the Super Bowl and win it.

Fourteen of their first 15 games are played indoors. Yes, two of those venues have roofs that could be open, but it might be too hot in Arizona for Week 3 and too cold or humid in Indianapolis for Week 12. Still, 14 of the 15 games fit the mood of the dome at the Detroit house. .

In Week 9, the Lions travel to Green Bay. Other than that, everything happens indoors until three days before Christmas in Chicago. The following week, they went to San Francisco.

Even though they will still face many teams in the playoffs starting in 2023 (Rams, Bucs, Cowboys, Texans, Packers twice, Bills), the table is set to fatten their record to not only win the division, but can -to be to force the road to the Super Bowl via Detroit.

And with the Super Bowl at the Superdome, the Lions could also play all playoff games indoors.

This is a huge potential advantage. Even though Jared Goff has improved as a quarterback since being traded to the Rams after the 2020 season, getting him out in the elements becomes the key to taking the ankles out of those who would bite your knees.

The Lions still have to earn it. But they are good enough to do it. Their road schedule keeps them in situations where Goff won’t have to deal with much, if any, rain, wind or snow. It also allows them to forget the disappointing way things ended last year (which prompted coach Dan Campbell to initially tell the team that this might have been their only chance) and think that for 2024 (and to borrow from the fourth option to the question asked at the beginning of Slumdog Millionaire), it is written.
