The captain of the Lioness Leah Williamson paid tribute to a little girl loving football that was killed when an electric car plowed on a sports field.
Poppy Atkinson, 10, died Wednesday evening when a black BMW i4 broke a fence where she trained at the Kendal Rugby Union Football Club.
An eight -year -old girl from Kendal was also emergency to hospital for treatment, but her injuries are not fatal, Cumbria police said.
The little girl, who idolized the lioness and dreamed of becoming a professional footballer and playing for Manchester United, was described as a “force of nature” which was “too good for this world” by her family with a broken heart.
Leah Williamson, who plays for the female Super League club Arsenal and the captains of the England national female team, also paid tribute to Poppy last night.
Taking on Instagram page, she said: “New tragic tragic! My thoughts concern family, friends and teammates. I can’t start imagining your loss. RIP POPPY ‘.
After the tragedy, the driver was arrested for suspicion of having caused death by dangerous driving.
Today, police said that a 40 -year -old man from Lancaster had been released under an investigation.
“Investigation surveys continue to establish all the circumstances of this incident,” they said in a statement.

It is understood that a training session of the Kendal United Football Club was taking place at the time of the tragedy.
Cumbria police said that there was “no indication to suggest that the incident was a deliberate act”.
Poppy was described by his family as the “focal point of our lives” in an emotional tribute as it was named for the first time today.
The girl dreamed of becoming a footballer for Manchester United and idolating some of the club’s largest stars, through male and female teams.
In a touching tribute, Poppy’s family said: “ Poppy was the focal point of our lives, everything for us revolved around Poppy’s love for football.
“Poppy touched so many lives, it was easy to see why, his energy, his character, his mind and his passion for football were contagious and touched a large number of people.
“Poppy was 100% determined to be a professional footballer. Many of those who know her and who know her determination to improve and win, did not doubt that she would reach her goal one day to play for Manchester United.
“Poppy idolized Ella Toone, Georgia Stanway, Mainoo and Messi to name just a few. Poppy was a small, small and beautiful, but she played an age group and proudly represented the Kendal United and County U-12 teams.

Tim Easter, 34, said: “ I spend earlier and I saw an ambulance of the field and two largest ambulances in the parking lot.

The president of Kendal Rugby Club, Dr. Stephen Green, previously said: “We are deeply saddened to confirm that an incident occurred today at the Kendal Rugby Club, leading to a tragic loss of the life of a child.
“Our thoughts go to their family and friends and we kindly ask for privacy for all the people involved during this difficult period.
“We fully cooperate with the authorities while they are investigating – the club and all the facilities are temporarily closed while it is done.”
