The largest American car manufacturer recalled 273,789 seen due to a problem that could lead to loss of braking function during driving, increasing the risk of collision.
Ford issued the alert for 223,315 shipments and 50,474 browsers produced between 2022 and 2024.
The front brake lines of these now reinactivated cars can be in contact ‘with their engine cleaning outlet hose due to a potential installation defect, according to documents published by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
This can lead to a brake fluid and / or loss of brake function.
The impacted drivers may undergo an increase in pedal trips, warned NHSTA documents, which means that the pedal should be stronger to apply the brakes.
And if there is a fleeing brake line, the fluid level will decrease over time – potentially causing red brake alert lighting.
Ford is not aware of any accident or injury linked to this recall and expects that only one percent of the recalled vehicles have the defect.
However, at least 45 owners have reported brake line leaks before April 17.

The owners affected should be informed of the recall via the letter from May 26, which will include instructions on how to proceed.
The concessionaires of the Ford or Lincoln installations will inspect the front brake line for appropriate clearances, an appropriate routing and retention.
“The dealer will replace the brake line or the air filter output pipe as needed. There will be no fees for this service ” indicates the recall.
Between March and April 2025, Ford examined how things were done in their Kentucky truck factory.
The company noted that on November 20, 2024, the factory had changed the way it stored the radiator pipe when installing the engine.
This change was made to prevent the brake line from folding and ensuring that everything is suitable for properly.
The team discovered that before this change, some shipping and browser vehicles could have had a problem.
When installing the engine, the radiator pipe could accidentally catch and fold the right front brake line.

If this happened, the brake pipe might not be transported properly and could rub against another part of the engine – the air cleaner outlet pipe – which could damage the time.
“As of April 17, 2025, Ford was aware of 45 warranty reports of a brake line leak received between November 4, 2022 and April 8, 2024,” said the NHSTA.
“In addition, Ford is aware of two field reports received on August 4, 2022 and April 10, 2025 and two customer service reports received on June 26, 2024 and August 28, 2024.”
Ford issued a similar recall in April on Fears, vehicles could ignite on the road.
The recall includes the Ford Escape 2020-2022 and the Ford Bronco Sport 2021-2023.
NHTSA officials noted that the 33,576 vehicles were in fact one of two previous reminders, which has not correctly corrected the damage.
The fuel injector is a key element of any gas automobile, acting as a small sprinkler that spray petrol in the car engine.
When this part is cracked, the gas can start to drip in other parts of the engine, which can be extremely hot when the car is running.
If the parts of the engine sprayed with gas are too hot or if there is even a small spark of the electrical systems of the car, petrol could ignite and start a fire.
The drivers affected by the recall should have received an opinion by post around April 24.
Ford will correct the cracks, as well as the free update of the control module software for the powertrain of each car.
