The judge blocks Trump FTC’s “reprisals” against media issues

E-mail

A federal judge blocked the Trump administration’s investigation into a group for the defense of liberal services known for its campaigns against Fox News in Rupert Murdoch and X.

Judge Sparkle L. Sooknanan cited evidence that the investigation, which was opened by the Federal Trade Commission last spring, was an act of reprisals against the defense group, Media Matters for America.

The judge granted a preliminary injunction because she wrote, “Media Matters is likely to succeed in her request for reprisals from the first amendment, what he needs at this stage.”

Media Matters has been a thorn in the side of Musk and its X social network for years. The group has published numerous reports on the prevalence of violent and hateful messages on X, which led Musk to call them a “evil propaganda” Hellbent to harm their business by turning on advertisers.

Musk continued media issues in response; The group has contradicted and some Republican elected officials supported musk. The primordial accusation is that liberal militants conforms to advertisers to injure conservative platforms and cooling discourse.

Some of the advertisers that Musk continued retaliated, arguing that he had recourse to legal and political maneuvers “to win back the company X lost in the free market when it has disrupted its own business and alienated a good number of its customers”.

President Trump returns to power, Musk and other media issues, the opponents felt embarked. Media issues allegedly allegedly allegedly when the FTC said it sounded a possible collusion.

Media Matters brought an action against the FTC asking for a legal compensation, which Sooknanan delivered on Friday, although the Battle of the Court is likely to continue.

An FTC spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comments on the court order.

Media Matters, who was seriously hampered by Musk and Company, said that the injunction is a symbol of effective resistance to the Trump administration.

“The court’s decision demonstrates the importance of fighting for folding, which too much face the intimidation of the Trump administration,” said Media president Angelo Carusone in a statement.

“This case does not only concern the campaign to punish and silence the media issues, however,” he said. “This is a critical test to know if the courts authorize any administration – of any political party – to intimidate the media and non -profit organizations through illegal abuses of power.”
