Israeli air strikes on a tent and home accommodation in southern Gaza killed 10 people on Sunday, including children, while the Palestinians observed the first day of Eid-Al-Fitr, the rescuers said.
The Israeli army intensifies its renewed campaign in Gaza, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying that efforts to put Hamas to free up more hostages “worked” and promising to implement the extremely controversial program of Donald Trump to move the Palestinians from the territory.
Twenty people were also injured in the strike in the Al-Mawasi region, Director of Civil Defense Civil Defense of Khan Younis, Yamen Abu Suleiman, told CNN, warning that the number of deaths would likely increase.
A local hospital has confirmed deaths so far, saying that five children had been killed.
The video of the consequences of the strike shows some of the children victims with new Eid clothes. In the Middle East tradition, children wear new clothes to celebrate three-day holidays.
In the images, a man We see a child lying around towards the hospital, asking, “What was the fault of these children?” They did nothing. ”
CNN has approached the Israeli defense forces for comments.
The Palestinians of the Gaza Strip are observing Eid this year against declining aid supplies and a number of deaths in the band.
“Each year, I used to cook Eid cookies for my children,” a moved woman told CNN, Amenuh Shaqla. “But because of the current situation and the price of everything, I could only prepare a kilogram – just to bring them joy so that they do not remain sad because of the war.”
Abdel Fattah Khalil Karnawi, a street seller, spoke of the outbreak of clothing prices. “We came to the market to get Eid clothes for children. Unfortunately, the circumstances are difficult and the prices are very high. ”

Israel resumed his offensive on Gaza almost two weeks ago, breaking a two-month-old ceasefire. He imposed a complete blockade of humanitarian aid entering the enclave, warning that his forces would maintain a permanent presence in certain parts of Gaza until the release of the 24 remaining hostages which would always be alive. Hundreds of Palestinians have been killed in the enclave since then.
Al-Mawasi, a coastal region west of the city of Rafah, was subjected several times to Israeli attacks, even if it was previously designated by Israel as a “humanitarian zone”. Thousands of Palestinians fled in Al-Mawasi, living for months in makeshift tents in fabric and nylon, with little access to humanitarian relief.
In the comments made on Sunday morning, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised to intensify the military campaign, saying that pressure on Hamas “worked”.
“It works because it works simultaneously: on the one hand, it crushes the military and government capacities of Hamas and, on the other hand, it creates the conditions for the release of our hostages. This is exactly what we do,” Netanyahu said at a government meeting.
Rejecting the claims that Israel was not willing to negotiate, he added that the “cracks” Presented themselves to Hamas after the renewal of the offensive and that Israel would implement “the Trump plan – the voluntary emigration plan”, a program that Trump seems to have taken up.
Sunday’s strike comes when Hamas has accepted a new Egyptian proposal to publish five hostages, notably the American-Israeli Edan Alexander, in exchange for a renewed ceasefire, a source of Hamas told CNN.
The proposal is similar to that presented several weeks ago by the American special envoy Steve Witkoff, although it is not clear if it also includes the release of additional deceased hostages.
In exchange for the publication of five hostages, Hamas expects a return to phase 1 cease-fire conditions, including the entry of humanitarian aid to Gaza, as well as an Israel agreement to negotiate the second phase of the ceasefire, the source said.
Israel responded to the Egyptian offer with a counter-proposition, according to a statement from the office of the Israeli Prime Minister.
“Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu led a series of consultations yesterday, following a proposal received from mediators. In recent hours, Israel has transferred his counter-proposition to mediators, in the middle of coordination with the United States,” said the office.
Netanyahu faces competing requests at the house of his right coalition who want to increase the pressure on Hamas and the families of the remaining hostages which fear that more military action endangers their loved ones.
