A stuntman continues Kevin Costner, his company Horizon Series Inc. and his Territory Pictures production company on what she says was a “violent non -scripted and unforeseen” rape scene in which she was corrected without notice and a present intimacy coordinator.
Costner’s lawyer described the trial of “Shakedown”.
The effect of the “impromptu work request” on the interpreter of stuntman Devyn Labella “was deep”, the trial says: “Not only does the upheaval of a career that Mrs. Labella spent years building, but leaving her permanent trauma that she will have to approach for the years to come.”
At the heart of the trial, deposited Tuesday before the Superior Court of the County of Los Angeles, is the allegation according to which one day after having shot a scenarized and planned rape scene where Labella was the interpreter of Cacade and Occasional for actor Ella Hunt and an intimacy coordinator with a different male actor.
“There was no exhaust of the situation, and all that Ms. Labella could do was to wait until the nightmare ends,” said the trial.
“Our client Kevin Costner always wants to ensure that everyone is comfortable working on their films and takes security on the set very seriously. However, this assertion of Devyn Labella has absolutely no merit, and it is completely contradicted by its own actions – and the facts,” said Costner Martin’s lawyer said in a statement on Wednesday, adding that his client was convinced.
The singer described Labella – who worked on the film in April and May 2023 – as a “serial accuser of people in the entertainment industry” and alleged that she and her lawyers had used what he called “Shakedown tactics”.
“As a stuntman on Horizon 2, the scene in question was explained to Ms. Labella, and after interpreting the rehearsal with another actor, she gave her stuntman supervisor a” thumb “and indicated her desire to draw the scene, if necessary (which was not).”
The singer also provided an SMS sent from Labella to the Wade Allen cascade coordinator after her work on the film ended. “Thank you for these wonderful weeks! I appreciate you so much! I learned so much and thank you again,” she wrote. “I’m really happy that it worked like that …. to have a big remains of the shooting and yes talk about it soon!”
A Labella representative did not immediately respond to Times’ comments on Wednesday.
The trial accuses Costner of sex discrimination, sexual harassment, creation of a hostile work environment, reprisals, breach of contract and more.
No intimacy coordinator was there for the unexpected rape scene, said the trial, when Labella expected to double for hunting in a “non -intimate” scene.
Labella was not informed that Hunt had refused to make the scene and left the set, said the trial, and “was not warned or prepared (stage partner Roger Ivens) to play or engage in an action in addition to her and first learned that Ivens would set it up and fired his skirt violently when he was already at the top of his fact.”
Once the filming has started, Labella was not clear at the moment when the action started and ended and did not get any “time or space” to consent or reject Costner’s management from the scene, according to the trial. Between the catches, Ivens lying on his side less than one foot of Labella’s face with his hand “resting above his vagina”, indicates the file.
The trial says that in the days following the rehearsal of the second rape scene, Labella often found herself in tears and ended up going home to Los Angeles from Utah for a few days to come together. Upon his return to the set, the file indicates: “The production team was now very cautious around Ms. Labella. She was invited to be alone in her trailer and not to be present on the set ”, which increased her discomfort.
In June 2023, said the trial, the stuntman began therapy to deal with “painful intrusive memories of the traumatic event, sleep disorders, fears of intimacy and anxiety”.
Labella says in the trial that Allen has not launched it in a project since the second chapter of “horizon”. His IMDB page does not list any project after “Horizon: An American Saga”, an effort in four parts of Costner which dropped in difficult times after the lower office of what the first film. The second chapter was taken from a theatrical version scheduled for August 2024 And only screened in two film festivals.
We do not know if the character of Hunt appears in the third chapter of “Horizon: An American Saga”. Hunt is not listed as a member of the film distribution, which began to film in May 2024, according to IMDBPRO. Allen, who, since the film Costner, has worked on the television series “Landman” and “Lioness”, is not listed as a waterfall coordinator. However, the complete list of players and the crew seems to be incomplete.
Labella, a former gymnast described in the trial as a “stunting extent”, also made cascades on projects such as the film “Barbie” and the streaming series “Yellowjackts”. Cascade credits since his work on the second chapter of “Horizon” include the episodes “NCIS” and the film “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F.”
The trial requires compensatory and punitive interest damages in the amounts to be determined at trial, the more legal costs and costs. He also asked that the accused be required to “submit to anti-sexual harassment and the formation of anti-sexual violence provided by a reputable organization” and to apologize to Labella.
