Flu cases jumped in Maine last week, according to a report published by the State Disease Control and Prevention.
Maine reported 1,131 cases of flu during the week ending on January 24 – more than double the number reported two weeks ago. The cases totaled 541 for the week of January 10 and the state reported 708 cases for the week ending on January 17.
Maine has recorded 3,302 cases so far during the 2024-25 flu season, which takes place from October to May.
Sixty-two people were hospitalized last week for the flu in Maine. The largest push has been in the southernmost part of the state.
