The mayor of Istanbul, the mayor Ekrem İMamoğlu, the best rival of Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, said that his lawyer had also been arrested for false claims.
“There is no end of lies or slander … This time, my lawyer Mehmet Pehlivan was detained for fictitious land,” wrote İmaMoğlu on Thursday evening.
“As if the coup d’etat against democracy was not enough, they cannot tolerate the victims of this blow defending themselves. They want to add a legal coup in the blow against democracy. The evil that an incompetent people inflict on our growing country. Release my lawyer immediately,” he added.
