Paige Bueckers has the whole city of Hopkins behind it – even by name.
In a salvation of one of its most accomplished residents, the city of Hopkins, Minnesota, will temporarily revive “Paige Bueckers, Minnesota” on May 16, 2025.
This special designation coincides with the BUECKER professional basketball debut after being the overall choice n ° 1 of the WNBA 2025 draft by the Dallas Wings.
The municipal council of Hopkins unanimously adopted a proclamation to honor the remarkable achievements of Bueckers.

The day will be officially recognized as “Paige Bueckers Day”, with local companies participating in thematic specials and organizing watch evenings for the opening of the Wings season.
“The city of Hopkins would like to honor its achievements and wishes it good luck on the professional level by proclaiming May 16 like Paige Bueckers Day and reversing the city to Paige Bueckers, Minnesota for the day,” said the ad. “We invite the community to celebrate the kick -off of the WNBA season with Think Hopkins and our local businesses on WNBA Watch, where companies will have special theme offers, will broadcast the game and celebrate the opening of the season – because everyone is watching female sports.”
The Bueckers basketball career has taken importance at Hopkins High School, where she drew national attention and is undoubtedly the country’s n ° 1 player.
Hopkins was the player of the year of Gatorade, the player of the year of Morgan Wooten and the player of the year of Naismith Prep of the year, while being a McDonald’s High School All-American and Miss Basketball of Minnesota.

Bueckers recently won his first and only national title at the college with Uconn, while winning the All-American honors from the first team and the Nancy Libermann Award for the second time.
Bueckers and the Wings will open their WNBA 2025 campaign at home against Minnesota Lynx, which lost freedom in the WNBA finals last year.
