The Kansas City chiefs asked to play on Christmas Day each year, according to reports.
Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Co. played on December 25 for each of the past seasons.
Now, according to The Athletic, the Chiefs have told the NFL that they wanted the holiday game to become a basic part of their regular season.
Detroit Lions and Dallas cowboys are currently enjoying a similar tradition, playing Thanksgiving every year.
However, this would disrupt the plans of Andy Reid players. The tastes of Mahomas have young families, while Kelce generally likes to spend the holiday period with her girlfriend Taylor Swift.
The pop star was in the stands – carrying a personalized Santa Kelce hat – for the defeat of the Christmas day of the Chiefs against the Raiders in 2023.

Last year, during this time, Kelce helped Kansas City beat the Pittsburgh Steelers on December 25 – just a few days before the couple took advantage of an appointment evening in New York.
According to reports, there should be three games on Christmas day as part of the 2025 regular season.
Two of these games will be broadcast on Netflix, the third being broadcast on Amazon Prime. Chiefs should again be part of the slate teams.
In 2023, Kansas City was beaten 20-14 in Arrowhead by the Raiders in a defeat that threatened to derail their offer of consecutive crowns from the Super Bowl.
Last year, the Chiefs beat the Steelers 29-10 in front of a television audience which would have exceeded 24 million.
