Las Vegas (KSNV) – A group of demonstrators gathered in front of Target to oppose the retailer’s decision to put an end to his initiatives of diversity, equity and inclusion of three years.
The new changes are a complete 180 -degree tour of the objectives of the retailer in 2019, one of its objectives being “to increase promotions for people of color and expenses with various suppliers”.
“Honestly, it looks like a slap in the face, especially minorities, minorities, not only in colors, it is also the LBGT community,” said Yasmin Salas, the protest organizer.
On the Target website, he indicates that one of the retailer changes for the new year is to conclude its objectives of diversity, equity and inclusion of three years.
In addition to the retailer putting an end to his DEI objectives, he also indicates that he “will conclude his initiatives for action and change of racial equity”.
When the retailer announced the changes more than a week ago, many defenders began to declare that they would begin to boycott Target on Saturday, February 1.
The demonstrators gathered at the target of Las Vegas the same day that the boycott had to start, with several demonstrators saying that they planned to take their business elsewhere.
“I know that CVS is still promoting Dei, it is a little more expensive there for your daily belongings, but it is really worth it if it goes to the greatest cause,” said Salas. “I’m not shopping there anymore, you won’t see me at Target.”
