“ The grass called anbumani deleted ”: the founder of PMK S Ramadoss expels his son from the party

The founder of Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), S Ramadoss, on Thursday September 11, announced the expulsion of his son and the president who works Anbumani Ramadoss of the party, calling him “bad herb” and citing “unprecedented anti-partis activities”.

The decision followed a meeting of the high -level administrative council on its farm in Thailapuram, according to the Indian Express (IE).

“The grass called Anbumani has been removed from the PMK,” said Ramadoss at a press conference. He added that the action was not limited to withdraw it from his post but also to the main membership of the party.

The veteran chief said that Anbumani had received an exhibition notice binding 16 charges but had not responded despite several reminders.

“The committee sent opinions on September 19 and twice thereafter. However, Anbumani did not respond or provided any explanation. This is an admission that the accusations are true,” said Ramadoss quoted by IE.

Allegations and disciplinary measures

The PMK said in a press release that Anbumani’s refusal to provide explanations was equivalent to the acceptance of accusations, which included unauthorized political movements, attempts to manage a parallel structure and indiscipline.

The declaration described its conduct as “irresponsible, selfish and inconvenient of a party leader”, and noted that it caused “great pain, disappointment and dissatisfaction” among party workers, in accordance with the Ani news agency.

Ramadoss also allegedly alleged that his son was trying to undermine the party and even planted a surveillance system at his residence, a case which is now under police investigation.

“Even devices have been planted to excite me … Let him start his own party now. This party was launched by me, and no one-including my son-has the right to divert him,” he said, according to IE.

Anbumani says that the expulsion is not valid

Anbumani challenged his expulsion from the party as “invalid” on September 11 and continued its campaign on a state scale, PTI reported on September 12.

He interacted with fishermen in the Cuddalore district and agreed to take their problems, including the construction of Groynes to prevent sea erosion. He also visited Silver Beach from Devanampattinam and tried to fish.

Political implications at Tamil Nadu

The expulsion comes at an important time for the policy of the Tamil Nadu. The PMK, across weakened, continues to command Vanniyars, which is a major obc community of the State.

The split could reduce the awareness of the NDA led by the BJP in the state, leaving the AIADMK as its only mass ally.

The senior PMK official, K Balu, who has a close association with Anbumani, questioned the decision, insisting that Anbumani remains the recognized president of the party until 2026, as approved by the electoral commission, according to IE.

The gap between the father and the son has simmered since December 2024, when Anbumani opposed his nephew and the grandson of Ramadoss, P Mukandan, as president of the PMK youth.
