The GM to ask for the death penalty for Luigi Mangione in the case of the murder of the CEO

The Attorney General Pam Bondi said on Tuesday that she had ordered federal prosecutors to ask for the death penalty in the case against Luigi Mangione in the December killing of the CEO of Unitedhealthcare, Brian Thompson, in New York.

“The murder by Luigi Mangione by Brian Thompson – an innocent man and father of two young children – was a premeditated composure assassination that shocked America,” Bondi said in a statement published by the Ministry of Justice.

“After a meticulous examination, I ordered federal prosecutors to ask for the death penalty in this case when we realize the agenda of President Trump to arrest violent crimes and make America again secure,” said the Attorney General.

Mangione, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, was prosecuted before the American district court of Manhattan with federal crimes, including murder, harassment and accessories, linked to the murder of Thompson outside the Hilton hotel in Midtown Manhattan on December 4.

Thompson, whose company is the largest payer of health insurance benefits in the United States, was heading for the hotel for a meeting of investors in its parent, United Group.

The MJ in his statement said on Tuesday that the “murder of Thompson was an act of political violence”.

“Mangione’s actions involved substantial planning and premeditation and because the murder took place in public with passers -by nearby, may have posed a serious risk of death for additional people,” the statement said.

Mangione, 26, also faces criminal accusations of the state at the Supreme Court of Manhattan, which is a court of level of first instance.
