German police in a city of Spa north of Francfurt extended a manhunt for one or more suspects still at free after two Turkish men were fatally slaughtered a day earlier, information said on Sunday.
Police in the Hesse region said the two victims had been shot in a residential area in Bad Nauheim, about 22 miles north of Frankfurt, and that a reason was not immediately known.

The German news agency, DPA, said that the authorities could not exclude that one or more suspects could have been involved, and the crime seemed to have been motivated by personal reasons. Citing police and prosecutors, the agency said the two victims were a stepfather at the age of 59 and a son-in-law at the age of 28.
According to Hessenschau, a regional publication linked to a public broadcaster, a large police contingent was deployed after the shots on Saturday, and local residents indicated that special forces had been sent to the site, as well as emergency vehicles and a police helicopter.
