Los Angeles (Friday May 16, 2025) – The MLS Cup champion in 2024, the Galaxy announced today that the club had signed the head coach Greg Vanney for a multi-year contract. The Galaxy has also invested in the growth of club football operations staff. The galaxy hired Ravi rimineni to a new role, director of quantitative analysis. In addition, the club promoted Vítor Gomes Pereira Júnior, known as Juninho, to the main advisor of the Director General and Zack Murshedi to the director of team administration and care for players.
Vanney, who led the club to an MLS Cup championship last season, brings a richness of experience, leadership and vision to the organization – the qualities of the club continues to prioritize as it accumulates for a long -term success.

Vanney is one of the most successful and respected coaches in the history of major leagues football, with a proven record for the constitution of winning teams and guidance of clubs to the biggest scenes in sport. In all his career as a head coach with the Toronto FC (2014-2020) and the Galaxy (2021 – Present), Vanney amassed 141 regular season victories – in fourth position among the active coaches of the MLS – and led its teams to four final appearances of the MLS CUP (2016, 2017, 2019, 2024), linked to the second year of all time (2017, 2017. For his tactical sense and his regular leadership, Vanney holds a percentage of exceptional victories of 0.708 in the matches in the MLS CUP qualifiers (16-6-2), tied for the best in the history of the League.
During his mandate at the Toronto FC, Vanney transformed the club into power, capturing an MLS Cup (2017), a SHIELD Supporters (2017) and three Canadian championships. Since his care as a chief coach of the Galaxy, Vanney has continued to shape a competitive and resilient team, leading the team to its sixth MLS Cup title in 2024. In total, he succeeded 172 games in all competitions with the Galaxy and recently marked his 400th match with the organization in all roles – Inheritance as a national figure in the figure of the club.
During his seven seasons as a player of the Galaxy of Los Angeles (1996-01, 2008), Vanney collected 29 goals and 23 assists in 232 games played (220 departures) in all competitions and helped the club to win a supporters (1998), a CONCACAF champions cup (2000) and the Lamar Hunt Cup OPEN (2001). Its 193 regular seasonal appearances with ranches equally in sixth in the history of the club.
The decision to re-sign Vanney strengthens the club’s belief in continuity, stability and a long-term approach to create lasting success.

In addition to this commitment to Vanney’s long -term vision, the club also extends its football operations function to continue supporting the players and the club’s strategy.
As director of quantitative analysis, Ramineni will play a key role in conducting data -based strategies through high performance, coaches and football operations services. Ramineni previously spent nine seasons with the Seattle Sounders FC (2012-21), where he started as a sports scientist and performance analyst and finally progressed to become vice-president of football analysis and research. Ramineni’s contributions to Seattle included the construction of the analysis department, which did not exist before, and helping the club build lists that won two MLS cups (2016, 2019), a Shield Supporters (2014), a Lamar Hunt US Cup (2014) and four Western Conference Championships (2016, 2017, 2019, 2020). Before joining the Sounders in 2013, Ramineni worked at Microsoft for more than six years on a variety of projects, in particular the analysis of large-scale data-scale data sets on the Bing search engine and the creation of a fraud detection engine based on rules for Microsoft online properties. Tenali, India, native was recently CEO and co-founder of SRC FTBL, a football analysis startup revolutionizing players’ recruitment and team analysis.
In his new position, Juninho plays an essential role in the Los Angeles football operations service by providing a link between the front office, the technical staff and the galaxy players. As a special advisor to the Managing Director, he is responsible for helping the communication flow between the front office and the technical staff in order to clarify what is happening at the club and therefore requires a unique practical experience of someone with experience as a player and coach, and a deep understanding of the needs of the front office.
In seven seasons with The Galaxy (2010-15, 2019), Juninho recorded 24 goals and 29 assists in 237 games (220 departures) in all competitions, helping it win Three Cups MLS (2011, 2012, 2014), Two Supporters’ Shields (2010, 2011) and Twice Being A Any MLS ALL-STAR (2011, 2015). After retiring from professional football in 2020, the native of São José Dos Campos, Brazil, joined the Galaxy as a coach of the Academy and was assistant coach at the Galaxy II.
Maurshedi began his role as director of team administration for the Galaxy La Du du season 2013, and he is responsible for daily operations and the administration of the first team, helping new players relocating the relocation process, pre-season coordination and seasonal trips and managing the P-1 visa demand process for foreign players. His promotion to the Director of Players care emphasizes the commitment of the Galaxy to support the development and care of players at the same time and outside the field.
