Terron Armstead Decision to retire the NFL Two months ago, it was more than just normal wear and tear after 12 years of professional football.
The 33 -year -old offensive platform, a Bowler Pro Quintuple player who has spent the last three years with the dolphins after nine seasons with the saints, revealed the disturbing lengths he had to go just to be able to walk on the ground, and even less to perform at a high level.
“I have been dealing with a knee (problem) since my third year in the league,” said Armstead On the “Nightcap” podcast. “I am at all a training field, not because I did not want or that the Dolphins simply wanted me to rest. I could literally not walk. After a match on Sunday, I could not walk alone, under my own power, before Wednesday, Thursday. So I could not keep doing for me.”

Armstead never appeared in each match during one of his 12 seasons, but managed to play in 15 games during the 2024 campaign despite the state of his knee.
“My injury history is vast, and it’s really the part for me, it’s my body,” said Armstead. “I love this game. Mentally, brain, I can play the game forever. But it’s just physically, my body slows down. (There are) movements and capacities that I just can’t play at the same level. ”
Armstead won $ 115.8 million during his NFL career and left $ 15.5 million on the table, retiring.

A choice of third round by the saints in 2013, Armstead made three pro bowls with New Orleans and was a Drew Brees teammate for his first eight seasons before signing with the Dolphins in 2022.
He won the Pro Bowl in 2022 and ’23.
