Fremont votes to do
Vulnerable suffering
Re: “The homeless camp is among the most difficult in the state” (page B1, February 13).
I attended the meeting of the Fremont municipal council where the council voted to criminalize homelessness, and I left dismayed – not only by the decision but with the way my neighbors justified it.
A resident complained of hearing the incomparable dog dog that barks. Meanwhile, in Detroit last week, two children froze to death because they had to sleep in a van.
Others have cited how many decades they had lived in Fremont. A lawyer stressed that most of the population of Fremont, without danger, grew up here.
Police said they had already started the application and would now start to follow the data. Why has it not already been followed? If this policy is extended, should we not have proof of its effectiveness?
This decision came to residents accommodated feeling uncomfortable to see homelessness and business owners worried about losing customers. Trade has won the compassion and the most vulnerable members of our community will suffer.

Pg & e is rich, not
shareholders
Re: “PG & E reports a profit of $ 2 billion” (page A1, February 14).
I have held a small amount (less than 1,000 shares) of PG & E action for over 30 years.
Based on many EBT articles, readers may think that shareholders are becoming rich. This is not the case. For decades, PG & E paid dividends from 43 cents to 50 cents per share. They stopped paying dividends in 2019 due to huge fines they had to pay. PG & E recommented dividend payments in January 2024 at the rate of 1 Cent per share. A hundred. Now I may allow myself this McDonald’s hamburger.
Profits can be high, but it does not go to shareholders.

Cost of PG & E
Love is very stiff
Re: “PG & E reports a profit of $ 2 billion” (page A1, February 14).
The CEO of PG & E, Patti Poppe, signs letters to customers this season of Valentine’s Day “with love”, while blaming them for higher rates because they were more energy efficient and buying less power .
His letter also indicates that PG & E avoided summer failures in 2024 due to solar energy on the roof and the storage of batteries that is triggered during the request for maximum heat waves. Unfortunately, she and various “experts” paid by PG & E continue to blame the solar owners on the roof for having increased energy prices. Well, you cannot have your cake (avoid breakdowns) and eat it too (falsely blame the solar owners on the roof for the rate increases while they prevent power outages). The only thing that increases PG & E transmission rates.
If Pope really likes its customers, she and pg & e would charge them with affordable energy rates.

Athletic field fees will be
Young families
The fee introduction plan for the use of sports fields is poorly won. Older and established people in the community can often afford such costs. This burden relates to young families whose economy develops.
The amenities benefit the whole community, and those like me, a 40 -year -old resident, have raised our family using these types of facilities. I would gladly pay to maintain parks and sports fields throughout the city.
Or think about the box. And the solar panels in the car parks? This would easily generate more money than costs.

Trump cuts are
Destroy lives
While Donald Trump and his inner circle happily dismantle all that are close and dear to democrats – education, health care, environmental protection, humanitarian aid, public radio and television, objective information media, etc. – They don’t mention something.
In their haste, the Make America Great Again team destroys the lives of thousands of Americans who claim these entities. These people are suddenly unemployed. Who knows how she will become homeless, turned off in the street by the Trump administration? What will be the real cost of this insufficiency? Never before has America saw such a mean and avenging diet. Who is then for the henchmen?
