The former NFL secondary, Dean Wells, died at the age of 54 after a two -year fight with cancer.
Wells, who played nine years in the NFL with Seahawks and Panthers, died Thursday morning.
His death has been confirmed by the Panthers, with whom he has spent the last three years in the NFL.
