A former man of West Covina pleaded guilty on Monday to send fraud by mail as part of allegations according to which he sold at least $ 250,000 of false memories with forged signatures of stars like Kim Kardashian and Kobe Bryant.
Anthony J. Tremayne, 58, pleaded guilty to a chief of fraud by mail after having sold false memories of athletes, actors, musicians and other celebrities from at least 2010 to December 2019, according to the United States Ministry of Justice.
Tremayne is from West Covina and now lives in Rosarito, Mexico, which pretended to avoid around 1.4 million dollars in the American government, according to an indictment of the Grand Jury.
Prosecutors accused Tremayne of advertising nationally that he sold real dedicated memories which were in fact false.
Customers paid Tremayne and obtained memories by post, sometimes with a certificate of authenticity that Tremayne has also forged, said the Ministry of Justice.
In November 2019, for example, Tremayne would have sold a poster “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” with forged signatures from Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian to an FBI infilt agent in Anaheim for $ 200.
He would also have sold guitars with forged signatures of Prince and Carrie Underwood, and replicas of Stanley cuts with false signatures of professional hockey players, among other memories.
Tremayne sold between $ 250,000 and $ 550,000 of false memories of celebrities, according to her advocacy agreement.
His conviction is scheduled for August 11. He risks a maximum of 20 years in federal prison.
