Former Liverpool star Jordon Ibe has been released by National League side Ebbsfleet United.

Ibe joined The Fleet in October after more than a year away from football following his departure from Turkish club Adanaspor.

Upon his arrival at the club, the winger insisted he was excited to get back on the pitch and expressed his gratitude to the manager for his support during his return to action.

During his brief spell at Stonebridge Road, the 28-year-old made just one league appearance, coming off the bench during the second half against Oldham in February.

Ibe is one of several players not to have been offered new deals at the end of their contract at the club, as Danny Searle’s side narrowly avoided relegation to sixth with a draw against Boreham Wood the last day of the season.

After a spell at Charlton’s youth academy, Ibe began his career at Wycombe and made his senior debut aged just 15 before being signed by Liverpool the following year.

In four years at Anfield, Ibe made 58 appearances in all competitions and was a regular in Jurgen Klopp’s first season on Merseyside.

His performances led Bournemouth to pay a record fee of £15 million to bring him to the Vitality Stadium in 2016.

However, Ibe failed to fulfill his considerable potential during his time on the south coast and left the club in 2020 when his contract expired to join Derby.

The 28-year-old winger has previously detailed his mental health struggles.

Ibe would, however, be limited to just one appearance with the Championship club, and went on to detail his mental health struggles.

In addition to his club exploits, Ibe has also made international appearances at various youth levels for England and turned down the opportunity to switch allegiances and represent Nigeria at senior level in 2015.
