The former bodyguard of Prince William and Prince Harry dies

The bodyguard of Prince William and Prince Harry – who walked with them behind the coffin bearing their mother, Princess Diana, during her 1997 funeral – died at the age of 77.

Graham Craker – which the boys called with love “crackers” – was a protective agent for a young William and Harry. Referring to Craker in his Memoirs in 2023 SpareHarry wrote: “The driver had to continue to stop so that the bodyguard could come out and erase the flowers from the windshield. The bodyguard was Graham. Willy and I really liked it. We always called him crackers, as in Graham Crackers. We thought it was hysterical.”

The death of cracker was confirmed by his sons on social networks, who described their father as “an incredible man” who “lived his altruistic life”, according to the BBC.

Craker was with William and Harry during the retirement of the end of the royal family, Balmoral, when Diana died on August 31, 1997. He later declared in an interview that he was in “disbelief” when he learned that she had lost his life in a car accident in Paris.

“You try to do it as best you can, but you become quite emotional on this subject,” said Craker, by The telegraph. “Perhaps the most emotional was to see William the day after the next day. I saw William walking his dog outside, and I approached him and I said: “I’m very, very sorry to hear your bad news. William, very unfortunately, said: “Thank you”. »»

From the mourning period, “most of the time, it was almost as if he was raining flowers,” he said in the 2017 documentary Diana: The day we said goodbye. “It was very poignant knowing that each of these flowers represents someone’s emotions in the crowd.”

From his funeral of September 6 and the procession of the Palais de St. James at the Westminster Abbey, he said: “We tried to use the wipers, but the driver had a lot of trouble seeing. I called the motorcycle escort at the front and I said that we have to stop. I removed the bonnet flowers and placed them next to the road. ”
