A former Arsenal player was rushed to hospital after the ball hit him in the face during a match on Saturday.

The 26-year-old was hit in the face with the ball at close range.

The incident occurred as RWD Molenbeek were beaten 3-1 at home to Charleroi in the Belgian Pro League.

Molenbeek coach Yannick Ferreira said there were fears the player had suffered a brain hemorrhage.

However, the player posted a positive update regarding his situation on Saturday evening.
