St Kilda star Jack Higgins was hammered by football fans and the Southern Australia Prime Minister after making a game of play in the city of Adélaide during her post-match interview on Sunday.

The saints beat Port Adelaide from 17 points to Adelaide Oval, soliding their place in the first eight after four laps.

The club chose to stay in Adélaide for the week while Gather Round descends to South Australia on Thursday.

We asked Higgins if he had something scheduled for the week.

“No, I don’t like adelaide, so I will probably be in my room playing Call of Duty with boys,” he told Erin Phillips by Channel Seven, referring to popular video games.

Seven commentators James Brayshaw, who lived in Adélaide during his cricket career, did not.

Jack Higgins targeted the city of Adelaide during his post-match interview after his team’s victory over Port Adélaïde

“Come on, Higgo – it’s a crashing city!” What are you talking about? ‘ He said.

Jason Bennett from Seven added: “After saying that, he may not want to leave the hotel room!”

Prime Minister Peter Malinauskas also commented on the situation, insisting that Higgins should get out of his room and “see a few things”.

“There was a time when we obtained a defensive and a height of this kind of comments, but I think we went beyond,” said Malinauskas.

“In Australia-meridional, I think people really feel comfortable that we are proud of our state, and we have a lot to offer and we know that more and more people come to take advantage of it.

“My only recommendation to Jack is that playing Call of Duty in a hotel room is not my cup of tea, I would be more inclined if I was him to go out and see a few things.”

The cheeky remark of Higgins did not go well with the inhabitants, including the star of Adelaide Crows, Darcy Fogarty.

“He didn’t have to spend too much time here. There is so much to offer, “he said to Seven.

“If he doesn’t like it, I think he can fuck fairly quickly.”

Fogarty loves Adelaide so much that he was tattooed last week with an image of a box of the famous Cooper beer in the State.

“Getting something you love for your first tattoo. I chose Coopers Brewery ” wrote Fogarty on Instagram alongside a photo of him with the tattoo.

Coopers replied in the comments: “You will always remember your first.”
