The flames will appear above Pacific Palisades, this time to see what caused the fatal fire in January

The flames will appear once again on Pacific Palisades this week while federal investigators will carry out a controlled fire test to help determine what caused the January fire which killed a dozen people and destroy thousands of houses.

Almost four months after the American alcohol, tobacco, firearm and explosives office began investigating palisades fires, the investigators will set fire to certain parts of the temescal crest path between Skull Rock and Green Peak on Tuesday evening.

The authorities believe that the fire of the palisades was detected for the first time around 10:30 am on January 7 while the strong winds sent flames running on the dry ground. According to ATF, the fire test will take place until Thursday. Investigators hope that this will help them determine the exact point of origin of Palisades Fire and how, during a massive wind storm, she ran hills in the ocean.

Familiar sources with the survey indicate that a large part of the emphasis has been put on the question of whether an eight -acres fire launched by fireworks a week earlier that firefighters thought they had extinguished in the same area had revived.

Los Angeles fire officials said the staff would be present before, during and after all tests to ensure public security and environmental protection.

Investigators did not exclude that the fire was somehow launched in the morning of January 7, whether it was a ravid of the older fire or a new fire. In the two scenarios, according to the sources, the cause of the fire would probably be from humans, because there are no power posts near the point of origin and the area of the trail is a somership. In the absence of a cause, some owners continued, alleging that the power lines have fueled destruction.

The Los Angeles fire service used undergoing investigations to maintain an extraordinary secrecy on the preparations and the city’s response to hell, one of the three major fires that broke out that day.

With billions of damage, palisades can be the most expensive disaster in history. Already, a recall campaign has targeted Bass, which is re -election next year. The mayor was fiercely criticized for having traveled in Ghana three days before the fire, despite a prediction of dangerous winds which became more and more disastrous after his departure.

On January 1, Lachman’s fire was reported around 12:17 p.m. in the hill over the Pacific Palisades by a resident whose house is around two houses in the popular Skull Rock Trail. Sources knowing the investigation that was not authorized to speak publicly told Times that Lachman’s fire seems to have been triggered by fireworks.

Breathtaking helicopters could not fly because of the wind, according to the agency, but around 1:40 am, they started launching an air attack to support the teams on the ground. New images have captured the event, with flame walls overlooking houses and firefighters with pipes flowing in the backyards.

Shortly after 3:30 am, fire officials said they had stopped progressing on the fire.

About an hour later, the Lafd reported that the firefighters “finished the pipe line around the perimeter of the fire and that it is fully contained”. However, some firefighters stayed on the site to mop up the remaining hot spots and make sure that the fire has no longer pushed.

The deputy chief of the firefighters Joe Everett, who helps to supervise the western office of Lafd, which includes the Pacific Palisades, said that the firefighters had carried out a cold flight operation on the site in which the crews felt for any persistent heat along the edge of the fire, dug each place live and decided in the edges of the fire to guarantee that nothing could be detached later.

In the aftermath of the January fires, the investigators traveled each part of the trail and the hill, breaking it into grids. They examined 250 tracks, obtained 90 hours of relevant video and led 50 interviews.

On February 21, Bass withdrew the Lafd Kristin Crowley as firefighters, citing Crowley’s deployment decisions before the fire as a reason. The Times reported in January that Crowley and its staff chose not to order 1,000 firefighters to stay in service for a second quarter of work on the morning of the fire, which would have doubled the number of staff. Crowley and his fire commanders said they had not retained a quarter of work because they did not have enough engines for so many firefighters.
